Experimental Study of M20 Grade Concrete Using Packing Density Method

open access: yes
Packing density method of mix design of concrete is new method to design different types of concrete. The mix design obtained from the packing density method has suitable workability, maximum packing density and minimum voids ratio.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Radial packing density of MJS yarns

open access: yes, 1998
229-232The effects of first nozzle pressure, second nozzle pressure and spinning speed on the internal structure of MJS yarns have been studied. The yarn cross-section has been divided into five concentric zones of equal width and the fibre packing ...

Packing density control of aligned carbon nanotubes

open access: yes, 2018
With utilization of the competitive catalytic reactions between carbon deposition on the pore surface of an anodic alumina template and carbon nanotube (CNT) growth by a Co catalyst, the packing density of CNTs was readily controlled over 4 orders of ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Modelling of Packing Density for Particle Composites Design

open access: yes, 2016
Effective packing of solid particles is one of the main topics in the field of ceramics, powder metallurgy and concrete technology. In these material sectors it is necessary to maximise or optimise the packing density of particles.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Combining tomographic imaging and DEM simulations to investigate the structure of experimental sphere packings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We introduce and describe in detail a “virtual laboratory” platform to study granular materials by combining advanced image reconstruction techniques from computed X-ray micro tomography and discrete element method simulations. This platform allows us to

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Dynamics in Cu46Zr42Al7Y5 melts: Interplay between packing density and viscosity

open access: yes, 2009
We have investigated microscopic dynamics in the bulk glass-forming Cu46Zr42Al7Y5 melts using quasielastic neutron scattering (QENS). Self-correlation functions show a fast beta and a slow alpha-relaxation process.
