PoDPBT, a BAHD acyltransferase, catalyses the benzoylation in paeoniflorin biosynthesis in Paeonia ostii [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, 2023
PoDPBT, an O‐benzoyltransferase belonging to the BAHD family, can catalyze the benzoylation of 8‐debenzoylpaeoniflorin to paeoniflorin. PoDPBT is the first enzyme demonstrated to be involved in the modification stage of paeoniflorin biosynthesis. DFGGG, a new DFGWG‐like motif, was revealed in the BAHD family.

Complete Chloroplast Genome Sequence and Phylogenetic Analysis of Paeonia ostii [PDF]

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Paeonia ostii, a common oil-tree peony, is important ornamentally and medicinally. However, there are few studies on the chloroplast genome of Paeonia ostii. We sequenced and analyzed the complete chloroplast genome of P. ostii. The size of the P.

PacBio full-length sequencing integrated with RNA-seq reveals the molecular mechanism of waterlogging and its recovery in Paeonia ostii [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Paeonia ostii, a widely cultivated tree peony species in China, is a resourceful plant with medicinal, ornamental and oil value. However, fleshy roots lead to a low tolerance to waterlogging in P. ostii. In this study, P. ostii roots were sequenced using

Dormancy-release, germination and seedling growth of Paeonia ostii 'Fengdan' seeds under measures of physical and chemical treatment and sowing. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2022
Paeonia ostii 'Fengdan', a woody oleaginous plant native from China, is considered an oil crop with economic potential. However, a low germination rate was still a restriction for Paeonia ostii 'Fengdan' production.

Integrated Metabolomic and Transcriptomic Analyses Reveal the Potential Molecular Mechanism Underlying Callus Browning in Paeonia ostii [PDF]

open access: yesPlants
Callus browning is a significant problem that hinders plant tissue regeneration in Paeonia ostii “Fengdan” by causing cell death and inhibiting growth. However, the molecular mechanism underlying callus browning in P. ostii remains unclear. In this study,
