Non universality of leptons as a source of new physics from non standard interactions of pseudoscalar mesons

open access: yesKuwait Journal of Science, 2023
The rare decays, K+→π+νν¯, B+→π+νν¯ and D+→π+νν¯, are investigated in the frame work of nonstandard neutrino interactions (NSI). It is claimed that NSI are arising due to non-universality of the leptons and bounds on NSI parameters ϵll′uL are determined.

Platelet-activating factor (PAF) mediates NLRP3-NEK7 inflammasome induction independently of PAFR

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 2019
Platelet-activating factor (PAF) can drive pathophysiological inflammation, but the mechanism remains incompletely understood. Here, Deng et al. report that PAF activates the canonical NLRP3 inflammasome independently of its receptor PAFR.

The latest on Apertif [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We describe a Phased Array Feed (PAF) system, called Apertif, which will be installed in the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope (WSRT). The aim of Apertif is, at frequencies from 1.0 to 1.7 GHz, to increase the instantaneous field of view of the WSRT 8

Platelet-Activating Factor (PAF) in Allergic Rhinitis: Clinical and Therapeutic Implications

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Medicine, 2019
Platelet-activating factor (PAF) is a lipid mediator involved in several allergic reactions. It is released from multiple cells of the immune system, such as eosinophils, neutrophils, and mast cells, and also exerts its effect on most of them upon ...

In vitro anti-inflammatory and anti-coagulant effects of antibiotics towards Platelet Activating Factor and thrombin

open access: yesJournal of Inflammation, 2011
Background Sepsis is characterized as a systemic inflammatory response that results from the inability of the immune system to limit bacterial spread during an ongoing infection.

OpenPose: Realtime Multi-Person 2D Pose Estimation Using Part Affinity Fields [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2018
Realtime multi-person 2D pose estimation is a key component in enabling machines to have an understanding of people in images and videos. In this work, we present a realtime approach to detect the 2D pose of multiple people in an image.

PAF-Wnt signaling-induced cell plasticity is required for maintenance of breast cancer cell stemness

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
Cancer stem cells (CSCs) contribute to tumour heterogeneity, therapy resistance and metastasis. However, the regulatory mechanisms of cancer cell stemness remain elusive.

Does Yogurt Enriched with Platelet-Activating Factor Inhibitors from Olive Oil By-Products Affect Gut Microbiota and Faecal Metabolites in Healthy Overweight Subjects? (A randomized, parallel, three arm trial.)

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioscience-Landmark
Objective: The effect of the daily consumption of a low-fat yogurt (150 g) enriched with Platelet-Activating Factor receptor (PAF-R) antagonists, or the plain one, on gut microbiota and faecal metabolites was investigated in healthy overweight subjects ...
