Byte-Pair Encoding for Text-to-SQL Generation
Neural sequence-to-sequence models provide a competitive approach to the task of mapping a question in natural language to an SQL query, also referred to as text-to-SQL generation. The Byte-Pair Encoding algorithm (BPE) has previously been used to improve machine translation (MT) between natural languages.

The dorsolateral prefrontal cortex plays a role in self-initiated elaborative cognitive processing during episodic memory encoding: rTMS evidence. [PDF]
During episodic memory encoding, elaborative cognitive processing can improve later recall or recognition. While multiple studies examined the neural correlates of encoding strategies, few studies have explicitly focused on the self-initiation of ...

The assessment of discriminative encoding in memory for paired associates [PDF]
A technique for providing for the measurement of encoding stability and intralist stimulus discrimination is presented and applied to the analysis of some paired-associate data. Essentially, the measure involves a recall test for all stimuli in the list except one, then presenting either a previously tested stimulus or the missing stimulus. Recognition

Background The performance of 3D-based virtual screening similarity functions is affected by the applied conformations of compounds. Therefore, the results of 3D approaches are often less robust than 2D approaches.

Age-Related Deficits in Memory Encoding and Retrieval in Word List Free Recall
Although ageing is known to affect memory, the precise nature of its effect on retrieval and encoding processes is not well understood. Here, we examine the effect of ageing on the free recall of word lists, in which the semantic structure of word ...

Encoding specificity and integration of word pairs [PDF]
Word concreteness was shown to have a differential effect on recognition-cued recall differences for noun-adjective pairs in a variant of the Tulving and Thomson (1973) paradigm. Consistent with the notion of integration of concrete word pairs, cued recall was superior to recognition for concrete-concrete pairs, but not for other pair types.

Theoretical Analysis of Byte-Pair Encoding
Byte-Pair Encoding (BPE) is a widely used method for subword tokenization, with origins in grammar-based text compression. It is employed in a variety of language processing tasks such as machine translation or large language model (LLM) pretraining, to create a token dictionary of a prescribed size.

Ratio-based multi-level resistive memory cells
Ratio-based encoding has recently been proposed for single-level resistive memory cells, in which the resistance ratio of a pair of resistance-switching devices, rather than the resistance of a single device (i.e.

Centromere Pairing by a Plasmid-encoded Type I ParB Protein [PDF]
The par2 locus of Escherichia coli plasmid pB171 encodes two trans-acting proteins, ParA and ParB, and two cis-acting sites, parC1 and parC2, to which ParB binds cooperatively. ParA is related to MinD and oscillates in helical structures and thereby positions ParB/parC-carrying plasmids regularly over the nucleoid.
