Performance Evaluation of PLA Based Biocomposites Reinforced with Photografted PALF [PDF]

open access: yesTekstilec, 2021
In this study, biocomposites were fabricated through a compression moulding technique that used untreated and grafted pineapple leaf fibre separately with polylactic acid (PLA) as a matrix.

Effect of Alkaline treatment on the characteristics of pineapple leaves fibre and PALF/PP biocomposite [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering and Sciences, 2021
Pineapple leaves fibre (PALF) is one of the natural fibre that hashigh potential to substitute non-renewable synthetic fibre in thermoplastic products. The PALF were alkali treated withdifferent concentrationsof NaOH.

Genus zero PALF structures on the Akbulut-Yasui plugs [PDF]

open access: yesOsaka Journal of Mathematics, 2019
We construct a genus zero PALF structure on each of plugs introduced by Akbulut and Yasui and describe the monodromy as a positive factorization in the mapping class group of a fiber. We also examine the monodromies of PALFs on a certain pair of compact Stein surfaces such that one is obtained by applying a plug twist to the other.

Receptor-independent Ambient pH Signaling by Ubiquitin Attachment to Fungal Arrestin-like PalF [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2010
The seven-transmembrane receptor PalH and its coupled, positive-acting arrestin-like protein PalF are key components of a molecular sensor that in Aspergillus nidulans and other ascomycete fungi mediates activation of an intracellular signaling cascade by alkaline ambient pH. PalF is ubiquitinated in an alkaline pH- and PalH-dependent manner.

Critical length and interfacial strength of PALF and coir fiber incorporated in epoxy resin matrix [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2018
The several advantages of natural lignocellulosic fibers (NLFs), such as, economical, technical, environmental and social, make these fibers an alternative to replace synthetic fibers in composite materials.

An Overview on Production, Properties, and Value Addition of Pineapple Leaf Fibers (PALF)

open access: yesJournal of Natural Fibers, 2016
ABSTRACTPine apple leaf fibre (PALF) is an agro residue, extracted by scratching of pineapple leaves followed by retting. PALF has desirable properties of a textile fibre like high cellulose content, good tensile strength and fibre length. Research works were carried on development of various products by blending with fibers with or without physical ...

Preliminary experience of combined dual plasma molecular adsorption system and plasma exchange in pediatric acute liver failure: a retrospective case series [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Pediatrics
Background Pediatric acute liver failure (PALF) is a life-threatening condition with no definitive treatment. This study evaluated the combined use of the dual plasma molecular adsorption system (DPMAS) and plasma exchange (PE) to improve liver function ...

No apparent increase in cases of severe acute hepatitis of unknown etiology with fulminant liver failure in children in Germany, 2022. [PDF]

open access: yesJPGN Rep
Abstract Objectives In April 2022, the United Kingdom and the United States reported alarming increases in cases of severe acute hepatitis of unknown etiology in children, indicating a multicountry outbreak. We aimed to determine if Germany was affected by the outbreak.

Acute severe cholestatic hepatitis and lymphopenia characterize pediatric hepatitis-associated aplastic anemia. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Pediatr Gastroenterol Nutr
Abstract Objectives Hepatitis‐associated aplastic anemia (HAAA) is described as acute severe hepatitis of unknown origin followed by bone marrow failure (BMF). We aimed to provide a comprehensive picture of pediatric HAAA. Methods Two‐center retrospective analysis was performed using data from children diagnosed with acquired BMF, including severe ...
