Absence of Pupillary Reflexes in Pediatric Acute Liver Failure and Neurological Outcome After Liver Transplantation. [PDF]

open access: yesPediatr Transplant
We analyzed a retrospective, observational cohort of 51 patients with pediatric acute liver failure with severe hepatic encephalopathy (grade III‐IV), admitted between 1993 and 2023. The survival rate in patients with present PR was higher compared to patients with absent PR (70% and 29%, respectively).

Evaluation of the Diameter Influence on the Tensile Strength of Pineapple Leaf Fibers (PALF) by Weibull Method [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2015
The fiber extracted from pineapple leaf (PALF) displays relevant mechanical properties that are motivating investigations for possible engineering application as polymer composite reinforcement. As any natural lignocellulosic fiber, the PALF presents non-

Etiology, outcome and prognostic factors of childhood acute liver failure in a German Single Center

open access: yesAnnals of Hepatology, 2015
Pediatric acute liver failure (PALF) is a progressive, potentially fatal clinical syndrome occurring in previously healthy children. Our study aimed to determine the current leading causes of PALF in a single center in Germany, identifying possible ...

Hemostatic Balance in Pediatric Acute Liver Failure: Epidemiology of Bleeding and Thrombosis, Physiology, and Current Strategies

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics, 2020
Pediatric Acute Liver Failure (PALF) is a rapidly progressive clinical syndrome encountered in the pediatric ICU which may rapidly progress to multi-organ dysfunction, and on occasion to life threatening cerebral edema and hemorrhage.

Development of the drone frame kit made up of natural fiber [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Increased environmental consciousness and demand for sustainable materials have encouraged the use of more renewable and environmentally acceptable resources as reinforcement, for the natural fiber like the (Pineapple Leaf Fiber) PALF and Kenaf fiber ...

Effect of Orientation of Basalt Fiber Skin on Damping Performance of PALF/Epoxy Hybrid Composites

open access: yesJournal of Natural Fibers, 2022
The objective of the present study is to develop a low-cost hybrid composite using pineapple leaf fiber obtained from agro-waste as core and high modulus basalt fiber produced from volcanic rock as skin to analyze the impact of basalt fiber orientation ...

Phenotype and Long-Term Outcome in Recurrent Paediatric Acute Liver Failure: Systematic Review and Individual Participant Data Analysis. [PDF]

open access: yesLiver Int
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Recurrent acute liver failure (RALF) in children is defined as two or more episodes of acute liver failure with complete recovery in between. Several genetic mutations are associated with this condition, including NBAS, RINT1, LARS1 and SCYL1.

Rapid Fabrication of Pineapple Leaf Fibers from Discarded Leaves by Using Electrolysis of Brine

open access: yesTextiles, 2022
Instead of contributing to global warming by the traditional method—burning crop wastes—in this study, discarded pineapple leaves were rapidly turned into multifunctional fibers: pineapple leaf fibers (PALF).

Investigation of Single Fibre Tensile Properties of the Pineapple Leaf (PALF)

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2021
Abstract Recently, natural fibres composite is rigorously explored as alternative fibres due to the source depletion of petroleum. This research was focusing on pineapple leaf (PALF). The purpose of this research was to study the single fibre tensile properties of PALF.
