Effect of enzymatic transesterification on the fluidity of palm stearin-palm kernel olein mixtures [PDF]

open access: yesFood Chemistry, 1998
Abstract In an effort to improve the physical and/or melting characteristics of solid fats, the enzymatic transesterification of palm stearin-palm kernel olein (40:60) in a solvent-free system was investigated. The enzymes used were Celite-bound lipases that include 1,3-specific lipases such as Aspergillus niger, Alcaligenes sp.

Macaúba (Acrocomia aculeata) pulp oil ethylic biodiesel using lipase from Aspergillus oryzae: kinetic and process parameters

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Macaúba (Acrocomia aculeata), a native species from Brazilian biomes, has emerged as a sustainable alternative to vegetable oil production. Its fruit presents high oil yield (3–6 ton/ha), extracted from its kernel and pulp. While the kernel is suitable for food and cosmetics application, the pulp oil has been considered as a promising ...

Iron‐Catalyzed Hydrodecarboxylation of Fatty Acids From Vegetable Oils for Drop‐In Biofuel Production

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
An iron‐catalyzed hydrodecarboxylation for renewable hydrocarbon production is reported, featuring an alternative hydrogen source and a commercially available iron salt as the catalyst. The protocol enabled efficient one‐pot Cn–1 hydrocarbon synthesis from vegetable oils under mild and open‐air conditions.

Technology of specialty fats based on palm stearin

open access: yesEastern-European Journal of Enterprise Technologies, 2016

Dynamics of carob flour contents and palm stearin/palm olein ratios in cocoa carob cream production‒a new product development

open access: yes, 2021
A new cocoa carob cream was developed and textural, rheological, and sensorial characteristics of the product were investigated. Three different carob flour (7.5%, 10%, and 12.5%) and palm stearin/palm olein mixture ratios (3.5/96.5%, 5/95%, and 6.5/93.5%
