Abstract Edible oils are essential dietary constituents that contribute as energy source, fatty acids and medium for fat‐soluble vitamins. High temperature during frying induces changes in the fatty acid profile of edible oils. The primary aim of this study is to investigate the influence of high temperature (230 ± 5°C) and duration of heating (0, 1, 2

Leucaena Oil Functionalized With Osmium Tetroxide as a Precursor for Polyol‐Based Polyurethane
Leucaena leucocephala seed oil is converted into a hydroxyl‐functional biopolyol through OsO4‐mediated dihydroxylation. The resulting biopolyol shows a hydroxyl number of 160–175 mg KOH g−1 and is successfully used to produce flexible, open‐cell polyurethane foams, highlighting a renewable route for converting underutilized biomass into value‐added ...

The effect of replacing red palm stearin with red palm olein in baked potato cookies
Potato cookies were formulated by replacing red palm stearin (RPS) by red palm olein (RPOL) at 0, 17 and 35%, and then baked at 160, 180 and 200 °C for 10, 12 and 15 min. The sensory analysis, using an orthogonal test, showed that a RPS-RPOL ratio of 65:35, baking temperature of 160 ºC, and baking time 12 min were the optimal conditions.

Adipocyte‐derived palmitic acid induces ZDHHC15‐mediated PPARγ S‐palmitoylation at Cys159, triggering its proteasomal degradation and promoting breast cancer malignancy with rosiglitazone resistance. Inhibition of PPARγ S‐palmitoylation by 2‐bromopalmitate suppresses breast cancer progression and synergistically enhances rosiglitazone efficacy ...
