Early molecular events in PAMP-triggered immunity

Current Opinion in Plant Biology, 2009
In plant innate immunity, the first line of microbial recognition leading to active defence responses relies on the perception of pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) by pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs). This recognition leads to PAMP-triggered immunity (PTI).

Sensing, Presenting, and Regulating PAMPS

2008
Recognition of microbial infection and initiation of immune responses are controlled by multiple mechanisms. Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are key components of the innate immune system that detect microbial infection. TLR activation helps to eliminate the invading pathogens, coordinate systemic defenses, and initiate adaptive immune responses.
