QSAR model of pancreatic lipase inhibition by phenolic acids and their derivatives based on machine learning and multi-descriptor strategy

open access: yesJournal of Agriculture and Food Research, 2023
Inhibition of pancreatic lipase can be effective in controlling or treating obesity. Phenolic acids have good pancreatic lipase inhibitory effects and are widely found in plants.

Role of Fibre in Nutritional Management of Pancreatic Diseases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The role of fibre intake in the management of patients with pancreatic disease is still controversial. In acute pancreatitis, a prebiotic enriched diet is associated with low rates of pancreatic necrosis infection, hospital stay, systemic inflammatory ...

Protective effects of urocortin 2 against caerulein-induced acute pancreatitis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Because little is known about the role of corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) agonists in regulating responses in pancreatitis, we evaluated the effects of urocortin 2 (UCN2) and stressin1 in caerulein-induced acute pancreatitis (AP) model in rats. Male

Diagnosis of pancreatic disease in feline platynosomosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Objectives: Platynosomum species are cat-specific parasitic trematodes that parasitize the biliary ducts and gall bladder. Due to the common connection to the major duodenal papilla of the pancreas and common bile ducts in addition to the periductal ...

Markedly elevated lipase as the first manifestation of celiac disease: Case Report

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Internal Medicine, 2021
Lipase is a hydrolytic enzyme and commonly used for the diagnosis of pancreatitis with amylase. Except for pancreatitis, lipase is elevated in many clinical conditions such as hepatobiliary disorders, bowel diseases, malignancies, renal impairment ...

Assessment of Canine Pancreas-Specific Lipase and Outcomes in Dogs with Hemodialysis-Dependent Acute Kidney Injury. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
BackgroundRenal replacement therapies can be life-saving for dogs with severe acute kidney injury (AKI), however, comorbidities including pancreatitis might affect outcome.Hypothesis/objectivesTo investigate the prevalence of pancreas-specific lipase ...

The Role of Bile in the Regulation of Exocrine Pancreatic Secretion [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
As early as 1926 Mellanby (1) was able to show that introduction of bile into the duodenum of anesthetized cats produces a copious flow of pancreatic juice.

Inhibition of Pancreatic Lipase by Tetracyclines

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Dermatology, 1970
The effect of various antibiotics on the rate of hydrolysis of an olive oil emulsion by hog pancreatic lipase was studied by potentiometric titration. Tetracycline, demethyl-chlortetracycline and doxycycline were able to inhibit this lipase system completely, at appropriate drug concentrations.

Lipase activity in vesicular systems: Characterization of candida cylindracea lipase and its activity in polymerizable dialkylammonium surfactant vesicles [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Lipase from Candida cylindracea (CCL) was incorporated into polymerizable positively charged dialkylammonium bromide surfactant vesicles. The enzyme was incorporated by the use of the dehydration-rehydration method or by incubation.

Porcine Pancreatic Lipase

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1972
Porcine pancreatic lipase has been purified to homogeneity as determined with analytical polyacrylamide gels. Both isoenzymes of lipase were shown to be glycoproteins containing 3.8 moles of mannose and 2.9 moles of N-acetylglucosamine per mole of enzyme.
