CD93—An emerging vascular target in cancer therapy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract CD93 is a single‐pass transmembrane glycoprotein that belongs to the C‐type lectin domain group XIV family of proteins. Although it is known to be expressed in other cell types, namely, in some subsets of immune cells, CD93 is primarily expressed on endothelial cells, where it acts as a crucial regulator of angiogenesis.

Molecular Basis of Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors

open access: yes
Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are rare well-differentiated neoplasms with limited therapeutic options and unknown cells of origin. The current classification of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors is based on proliferative grading, and guides ...

Therapeutic access points: The roles of circumventricular organs in drug delivery and metabolic regulation

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
The current obesity drug landscape, dominated by GLP‐1 receptor agonists and emerging multi‐agonist therapies, has reinforced that long‐term weight loss is achieved in large part through central mechanisms that suppress appetite and reshape energy balance.

Genomic Evolution and Immune Contexture With Therapeutic Relevance in Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Lineage‐dependent immunogenomic landscapes and biologically informed therapy in pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms. Pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms display lineage‐dependent immunogenomic landscapes, in which genomic alterations, epigenetic states, antigen‐presentation status, immune‐cell infiltration, and suppressive microenvironments co‐evolve ...

MEN1 Deficiency Drives Lung Cancer Progression via Activation of MMP10‐Mediated Angiogenesis

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
MEN1 deficiency promotes JunD‐mediated upregulation of MMP10 expression, which cleaves pro‐HB‐EGF and activates endothelial EGFR. This triggers the PI3K/Akt and MEK/ERK signaling pathways, thereby driving angiogenesis and tumor progression. MMP10 inhibitor treatment blocks this cleavage, suppresses EGFR signaling, and thereby delays malignant ...

What Are Computer‐Assisted Methods Achieving in Fine‐Needle Aspiration Cytology of the Pancreas? A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesCytopathology, EarlyView.
This meta‐analysis demonstrates high diagnostic accuracy of computer‐assisted methods in pancreatic EUS‐FNA cytology (AUC 0.92–0.96) and supports an integrated, cytopathologist‐led workflow in which artificial intelligence functions as an adjunct to diagnostic interpretation and on‐site evaluation (ROSE). Cytological Identification of a Rhabdoid Variant of Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasm

open access: yesCytopathology, EarlyView.
Intracytoplasmic inclusions observed in rhabdoid‐type neuroendocrine tumours are evident on Giemsa staining and show strong cytokeratin (AE1/AE3) positivity on immunocytochemistry. This report describes the cytological features of a rare rhabdoid variant of pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasm and highlights the diagnostic challenges associated with this
