Radiotherapy Enhances the Oncolytic Efficacy of the Novel Oncolytic Herpesvirus VG161 and Amplifies Its Antitumor Immunity in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RT promotes VG161 replication in BC and its immunostimulatory transgenes expression, which is mediated by the upregulation of GADD34 and HVEM caused by RT. The combination therapy with VG161 and RT increases the abundances of tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes and elicits potent systemic antitumor immunity, thereby effectively inhibiting local tumors and ...

Intracellular calcium in the pancreas. Part 1. Role in physiological regulation

open access: yesGastroenterologìa
Background. The pancreas is a unique organ combining both exocrine and endocrine functions, with intracellular Ca2+ acting as a central secondary messenger that coordinates these processes.

Hepatoma‐Derived Growth Factor Coordinates STAT3 Pathway and Exosome‐Mediated Intrahepatic Crosstalk to Control Hepatic Steatosis and MASLD

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hepatic HDGF as a key mediator in coordinating hepatic steatosis and intrahepatic crosstalk in MASLD. Activation of HDGF facilitates its interaction with both STAT3 and S6K1, driving the S6K1‐dependent STAT3 phosphorylation and subsequently enhancing hepatic lipogenesis.

Biophysical and biochemical signatures of pancreatic stellate cell activation: insights into mechano-metabolic signalling from atomic force microscopy and Raman spectroscopy

open access: yesCell Communication and Signaling
Background Pancreatic fibrosis is a key pathological feature of chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer, driven by the persistent activation of pancreatic stellate cells. These cells, normally quiescent, undergo profound phenotypic changes in response

Inhibition of Focal Adhesion Restricts Chemoresistance in Pancreatic Cancer by Targeting SLC7A11 Mediated Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FAK signaling drives chemoresistance and tumor evolution in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. The FAK inhibitor IN10018 restores gemcitabine sensitivity by inducing SLC7A11‐mediated ferroptosis through the PI3K‐Akt pathway and remodeling the tumor microenvironment, reducing mesenchymal components while enhancing CD8+ T‐cell infiltration in preclinical ...

Cancer‐Associated Fibroblast‐Derived Sphingosine‐1‐Phosphate Activates a MALL–SDC4 Axis to Facilitate Perineural Invasion in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CAF‐derived S1P activates the S1PR3‐JNK‐Jun signaling pathway, thereby transcriptionally upregulating MALL expression in cancer cells. MALL increases the cell‐surface abundance of SDC4 by promoting its recycling and restricting its lysosomal degradation, which in turn enhances RhoA‐p‐MLC2‐dependent amoeboid invasion and SDC4‐PTN axis‐mediated cancer ...

Interpretable machine learning-guided single-cell mapping deciphers multi-lineage pancreatic dysregulation in type 2 diabetes

open access: yesCardiovascular Diabetology
Background Pancreatic cellular heterogeneity is fundamental to systemic metabolic regulation, yet its pathological remodeling in diabetes remains poorly characterized.

ABHD17C‐Mediated S‐Depalmitoylation of BCL6B Enhances CD24 Transcription to Resist Macrophage Phagocytosis in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABHD17C‐mediated depalmitoylation of BCL6B at Cys442 blocks its nuclear import and triggers ubiquitin‐dependent degradation, attenuating transcriptional repression of the anti‐phagocytic signal CD24. This mechanism enables pancreatic cancer cells to evade macrophage phagocytosis and fosters an immunosuppressive microenvironment.
