Understanding panel conditioning: an examination of social desirability bias in self-reported height and weight in panel surveys using experimental data

open access: yes, 2011
Typically reliant on self-reports from panel data, a growing body of literature suggests that relative body weight can have negative effects on labour market outcomes.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Second-order conditioning.

open access: yes, 2014
Empirical (original measurement units) and simulated results during second-order conditioning test. Left panel reproduces the group mean response rates to the click across 4-trial blocks during test, adapted from Holland and Rescorla's Experiment 1 [57].

Natural Disasters and Development Thresholds: Infrastructure, Nonlinearity, and Economic Resilience

open access: yesSystems
Natural disasters pose major challenges to economic development, yet empirical evidence on their growth effects remains mixed. This study examines whether the macroeconomic impact of disasters depends on infrastructure development, using electricity ...

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Simulation and Experimental Validation of a 1D Cabin Thermal Model for Electric Trucks with Enhanced Insulation and Heating Panels

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal
To reduce emissions in the existing transportation system and lower carbon dioxide (CO2) output, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) offer a promising approach due to their higher energy efficiency. However, their driving range still falls short compared to

Longitudinal genome‐wide aneuploidy measurements in circulating cell‐free DNA to predict lack of benefit from pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

Development of a perforated panel for acoustic conditioning based on Colombian guadua fiber (Guadua angustifolia Kunth)

open access: yes, 2018
The present research is about the practical implementation of a perforated panel for acoustic conditioning, manufactured with guadua, a typical Colombian fiber. The developed panel is checked for its acoustic conditioning properties.

Efficient Power Conditioning: Enhancing Electric Supply for Small Satellite Missions

open access: yesAerospace
Electric power supply (EPS) is the heart of any aerospace mission and plays an important role in improving the performance and service lifetime of spacecraft. It generates, converts, stores, and distributes power to different voltage levels.
