Trusted routing for resource-constrained Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yes, 2010
Designing a reliable and trusted routing scheme for resource-constrained Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is a challenging task due to the lack of infrastructure and the highly dynamic network topology.

Query management in a sensor environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Traditional sensor network deployments consisted of fixed infrastructures and were relatively small in size. More and more, we see the deployment of ad-hoc sensor networks with heterogeneous devices on a larger scale, posing new challenges for device ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Sensitive and Discriminative Fluorescent Detection of Volatile Primary Aliphatic Diamine Vapors from Monoamines

open access: yesMolecules
The discriminative detection of volatile primary aliphatic diamines (VPADs) is a relevant and timely issue. This paper explores the distinctive optical features of H-type and J-type aggregates on paper-based (PB) films, namely H-PB and J-PB films ...

Traffic eavesdropping based scheme to deliver time-sensitive data in sensor networks

open access: yes, 2010
Due to the broadcast nature of wireless channels, neighbouring sensor nodes may overhear packets transmissions from each other even if they are not the intended recipients of these transmissions.

Inkjet printed LED based pH chemical sensor for gas sensing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Predictable behaviour is a critical factor when developing a sensor for potential deployment within a wireless sensor network (WSN). The work presented here details the fabrication and performance of an optical chemical sensor for gaseous acetic acid ...

Systematic Determination of the Influence of Factors Relevant to Operating Costs of Sensor-based Sorting Systems

open access: yes, 2022
113132Within the next decade, the recycling rates of all waste streams in the European Union are to be consistently increased (EU, 2018). Sensor-based sorting plays a crucial role in achieving those aims.
