Kinematics and Workspace Analysis of 4-SPRR-SPR 5-DOF Parallel Mechanism
Taking a 2T3R 5-DOF 4-SPRR-SPR parallel mechanism with rotating axis as the moving platform as the research object, the degree of freedom of the 4-SPRR-SPR parallel mechanism is analyzed by the screw theory, the inverse kinematics equation of the ...

Parallel Mechanisms for Visual Search in Zebrafish [PDF]
Parallel visual search mechanisms have been reported previously only in mammals and birds, and not animals lacking an expanded telencephalon such as bees. Here we report the first evidence for parallel visual search in fish using a choice task where the fish had to find a target amongst an increasing number of distractors.

Mechanisms of parasite‐mediated disruption of brain vessels
Parasites can affect the blood vessels of the brain, often causing serious neurological problems. This review explains how different parasites interact with and disrupt these vessels, what this means for brain health, and why these processes matter. Understanding these mechanisms may help us develop better ways to prevent or treat brain infections in ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Delta robots are the most common parallel robots for manipulation tasks. In many industrial applications, they must be operated at reduced speed, or dwell times have to be included in the motion planning, to prevent frame vibrations.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Parallel mechanisms with adjustable link parameters
There has been always a workspace problem with parallel mechanisms. This paper discusses the workspace of the parallel mechanisms and its enlargement by adjusting their link parameters. The basic idea is to cover a whole required range of workspace with small pieces of one.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.
