Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Vibration Robust Optimal Semi-Active Control of Multi-Dimensional Vibration Isolator Based on Parallel Mechanism

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao
In order to isolate multi-dimensional vibration experienced by vehicle-mounted precise instrument, a novel multi-dimensional vibration isolator is proposed based on 2-RPC/2-SPC parallel mechanism and the magneto-rheological (MR) damper. The kinematic and

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Development of a material testing machine with multi-dimensional loading capability

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2016
This paper presents a multi-dimensional loading material testing machine based on a hexapod parallel mechanism. We designed a model-based PID closed-loop control method using feedbacks from six uniaxial force sensors installed on limbs. Three simulations

Orientation selection in lamellar phases by oscillatory shears

open access: yes, 2006
In order to address the selection mechanism that is responsible for the unique lamellar orientation observed in block copolymers under oscillatory shears, we use a constitutive law for the dissipative part of the stress tensor that respects the uniaxial ...
