IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Verification of Program Parallelization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This thesis presents a set of verification techniques based on permission-based separation logic to reason about the data race freedom and functional correctness of program parallelizations. Our reasoning techniques address different forms of high-level and low-level parallelization.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Resource Optimization Via Structured Parallel Programming

open access: yes, 1993
When dealing with massively parallel architectures, many difficult problems have to be solved. In this paper we will show how, by adopting a structured style of programming and a set of template-based compiling tools, most of the burden required in ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Scalable data abstractions for distributed parallel computations

open access: yes, 2012
The ability to express a program as a hierarchical composition of parts is an essential tool in managing the complexity of software and a key abstraction this provides is to separate the representation of data from the computation.

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Some methodological issues in the design of CIAO - A generic, parallel concurrent constraint system

open access: yes, 1994
We informally discuss several issues related to the parallel execution of logic programming systems and concurrent logic programming systems, and their generalization to constraint programming.

Distance: a New Metric for Controlling Granularity for Parallel Execution [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Granularity control is a method to improve parallel execution performance by limiting excessive parallelism. The general idea is that if the gain obtained by executing a task in parallel is less than the overheads required to support parallel execution ...

APCM: An Auto-Parallelism Computational Model. Increasing the performance of MPI applications in multi-core environments

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science and Technology, 2018
Given the availability of computer clusters based on multi-core processors, the hybrid programming model has become an important ally of high-performance computing users in improving the performance of their parallel applications.
