Outliers and robust parameter estimation
2000Publisher Summary This chapter describes the outliers and robust parameter estimation. The chapter also discusses one method of fitting data in the presence of outliers. This method is “robust,” in that it is less sensitive than least squares methods to the presence of outliers.

Validating Robust-Parameter-Design Methods
Volume 3a: 16th International Conference on Design Theory and Methodology, 2004This paper discusses validation of design methods. The challenges and opportunities in validation are illustrated by means of an analogy with medical research and development. Inspired by this analogy, a model-based process is presented for validating robust-parameter-design methods. A hierarchical probability model was used to create a large number of

Robust Parameter Design: A Review
Quality and Reliability Engineering International, 2003AbstractParameter design is an engineering methodology intended as a cost‐effective approach for improving the quality of products and processes. The assumption is that there are both controllable factors (control variables) and uncontrollable/difficult to control factors (noise variables) that operate on the quality characteristic of a process.

Robustness against incidental parameters [PDF]
Neyman and Scott (1948) define the incidental parameter problem. In panel data with T observations per individual and unobservable individual-specific effects, the maximum likelihood estimator of the common parameters is in general inconsistent. This paper develops the integrated moment estimator.

Robust parameter‐free algebraic multilevel preconditioning
Numerical Linear Algebra with Applications, 2002AbstractTo precondition large sparse linear systems resulting from the discretization of second‐order elliptic partial differential equations, many recent works focus on the so‐called algebraic multilevel methods. These are based on a block incomplete factorization process applied to the system matrix partitioned in hierarchical form.

Fundamentals of Robust Parameter Estimation
2017The research of parameter estimation in different models of real systems resulted in the development of a number of algorithms possessing theoretically optimal properties regarding a chosen criterion.

Parameter-Dependent Robust Filter Design
2014This chapter studies parameter-dependent approaches to robust filter design, so as to reduce the conservatism of quadratic approaches presented in Chap. 2. By virtue of the Projection Lemma, dilated conditions are derived, where slack matrices are introduced to eliminate the product terms between Lyapunov matrices and system matrices.

On Robust Sequential Parameters Estimating
2017We study the problem of parameters estimating if there is a slight deviation between the parametric model and real distributions. The estimator is based on suboptimal testing of builded by a special way nonparametric hypotheses. It is proposed a natural for this problem risk function.
