Double-branched vortex generator [PDF]

open access: yes
In order to assess the suitability of using a double branched vortex generator in parametric studies involving vortex interactions, an experimental study of the main vortex and secondary flows produced by a double branched vortex generator was conducted ...

Predictors of response and rational combinations for the novel MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665 in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Two-Parametric Extension of h-Deformation of GL(1|1)

open access: yesLetters in Mathematical Physics, 1997
The two-parametric quantum deformation of the algebra of coordinate functions on the supergroup GL$(1| 1)$ via a contraction of GL$_{p,q}(1| 1)$ is presented. Related differential calculus on the quantum superplane is introduced.

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

Infinitely Many Precomplete with Respect to Parametric Expressibility Classes of Formulas in a Provability Logic of Propositions

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica, 2014
In the present paper we consider a non-tabular extension L of the well-known propositional provability logic GL together with the notion of parametric expressibility of formulas in a logic proposed by A. V. Kuznetsov.

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Non-parametricity of rational translates of regular Galois extensions [PDF]

open access: yesActa Arithmetica, 2017
We generalize a result of F.\ Legrand about the existence of non-parametric Galois extensions for a given group $G$. More precisely, for a $K$-regular Galois extension $F|K(t)$, we consider the translates $F(s)|K(s)$ by an extension $K(s)|K(t)$ of rational function fields (in other words, $s$ is a root of $g(X)-t$ for some rational function $g\in K(X)$)

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.
