In this study, the non-hypothetical projection pursuit regression (NH-PPR) is proposed. The proposed NH-PPR model can predict the hydration heat based on the four cement phases, FA, SL, cement fineness and hydration time.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Real-Time Detection and Classification of Power Quality Disturbances
This paper considers the problem of real-time detection and classification of power quality disturbances in power delivery systems. We propose a sequential and multivariate disturbance detection method (aiming for quick and accurate detection).

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

On asymptotically distribution free tests with parametric hypothesis for ergodic diffusion processes [PDF]
We consider the problem of the construction of the asymptotically distribution free test by the observations of ergodic diffusion process. It is supposedd that under the basic hypothesis the trend coefficient depends on the finite dimensional parameter and we study the Cramer-von Mises type statistics. The underlying statistics depends on the deviation

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

Non-parametric Hypothesis Tests for Distributional Group Symmetry
Symmetry plays a central role in the sciences, machine learning, and statistics. For situations in which data are known to obey a symmetry, a multitude of methods that exploit symmetry have been developed. Statistical tests for the presence or absence of general group symmetry, however, are largely non-existent.

Hypothesis testing for an entangled state produced by spontaneous parametric down-conversion [PDF]
Generation and characterization of entanglement are crucial tasks in quantum information processing. A hypothesis testing scheme for entanglement has been formulated. Three designs were proposed to test the entangled photon states created by the spontaneous parametric down conversion.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.
