Parametric resonance brain model
The paper introduces a parametric resonance model for characterizing some features of the brain's electrical activity. This activity is assumed to be a fundamental aspect of brain functionality underpinning functions from basic sensory processing to complex cognitive operations such as memory, reasoning, and emotion.

We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Numerical modeling of underwater parametric propagation to detect buried objects [PDF]
In underwater acoustics, detection of buried objects in sediments (cables, mines,…) is a complex problem. One reason is that acoustic attenuation in these sediments increases with frequency. To ensure sufficient penetration depth in marine sediments, low

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

Sketch-based and parametric modeling: Association of two-externalization processes for early daylight optimization [PDF]
peer reviewedThis paper focuses on sketch-based and parametric modeling as two externalization devices used in architectural design practice. The first part of this paper addresses features and ability of these externalization tools to support design ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Circular Bernstein polynomial distributions [PDF]
This paper introduces a new non-parametric approach to the modeling of circular data, based on the use of Bernstein polynomial densities which generalizes the standard Bernstein polynomial model to account for the specific characteristics of circular ...
