Paramyxovirus SV5 and multiple sclerosis
Nature, 1989Multiple sclerosis is commonly associated with a local humoral immune response within the central nervous system. A hallmark of this intrathecal response is the presence of electrophoretically demonstrable oligoclonal bands of IgG in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of up to 95% of patients. Observations indicating that a major part of the CSF IgG in some

Molecular mechanism of paramyxovirus budding
Virus Research, 2004Components of paramyxoviruses are assembled at the plasma membrane of infected cells, and progeny viruses are formed by the budding process. Although the molecular mechanisms that drive budding (membrane curving and "pinching-off" reaction) are not well understood, the viral matrix (M) protein is thought to play a major role in the process.

Different palmitoylation of paramyxovirus glycoproteins
Virology, 1989Different paramyxoviruses were analyzed for the covalent attachment of fatty acids into their structural proteins. The fusion protein (F) of Newcastle diseases virus and the hemagglutinin-neuraminidase (HN) of Simian virus 5 are fatty acylated, whereas the glycoproteins of Sendai virus are fatty acid free.

The structure and function of paramyxovirus glycoproteins
Medical Microbiology and Immunology, 1977Most of the information on the structure, function and replication of paramyxoviruses has been obtained from studies on Newcastle disease virus (NDV), simian virus 5 (SV5), and Sendal virus (see reviews by Kingsbury, 1973; Choppin and Compans, 1975; Rott and Klenk, 1976).

The transcriptase complex of the paramyxovirus SV5
Virology, 1977Abstract Structures with RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (transcriptase) activity have been isolated from SV5 virions and from infected cells. Transcriptase activity was greater in the presence of Mn 2+ than Mg 2+ ions and was stimulated more than twofold by the polyamines spermidine and spermine. The RNA synthesized by detergent-disrupted virions was

The sense of the helix of paramyxovirus nucleocapsids
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1972Abstract The sense of the helix of the nucleocapsid of the parainfluenza virus SV5 is left-handed, and evidence has been found suggesting that the nucleocapsid of mumps virus is also left-handed.

Avian Paramyxovirus: A Brief Review
Transboundary and Emerging Diseases, 2015Avian paramyxoviruses (APMVs) have been reported from a wide variety of avian species around the world. Avian paramyxoviruses are economically significant because of the huge mortality and morbidity associated with it. Twelve different serotypes of APMV have been reported till date. Avian paramyxoviruses belong to the family Paramyxoviridae under genus

A hitherto unreported paramyxovirus of turkeys
Research in Veterinary Science, 1979A newly isolated avian virus is described which was obtained from a flock of laying turkey hens with respiratory disease and accompanying egg production drop. Characterisation of the virus indicated it to be of the paramyxovirus group and to be related through antigenic crossing with Newcastle disease virus.

Gastroenteritis Due to Paramyxovirus
1993Gross examination reveals congestion with petechiae and ecchymoses in the mucosa of the stomach, cecum, colon and occasionally the small intestine. Peyer’s patches may be congested and prominent and mesenteric lymph nodes and the spleen may be enlarged.
