What's New? Estrogen receptors likely influence the development of laryngeal cancer and are of particular interest in regard to their relationship with the vitamin D metabolite 24R,25(OH)2D3. In this study the authors examined interactions between 24R,25(OH)2D3 and estrogen‐responsive laryngeal tumorigenesis.

An Evaluation of Oral Subchronic Toxicity of Maizinol (UP165), a Zea mays Leaf Extract
ABSTRACT Maize (Zea mays) has been consumed by humans for millennia and represents the third most abundant crop grown globally. Maize and maize‐derived products have a long history of safe consumption from bread and other cereal products in human diets worldwide. Aside from key dietary components like carbohydrates and proteins, the corn plant contains

Biosynthesis of Proparathyroid Hormone and Parathyroid Hormone by Human Parathyroid Glands [PDF]
Human parathyroid glands obtained at autopsy were incubated with [(3)H]leucine and [(3)H]lysine. After incubation, nonradioactive parathyroid tissue of either human or bovine origin was added. Radioactive parathyroid hormone and proparathyroid hormone were isolated from the gland and medium by organic solvent and salt fractionation, trichloroacetic ...

Cardiovascular actions of parathyroid hormone and parathyroid hormone-related peptide [PDF]
Cardiovascular cells (cardiomyocytes and smooth muscle cells) are target cells for parathyroid hormone (PTH) and the structurally related peptide parathyroid hormone-related peptide (PTH-rP). PTH activates protein kinase C (PKC) of cardiomyocytes via a PKC activating domain previously identified on chondrocytes.

ABSTRACT Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is associated with an increased risk of osteoporosis and fractures, and denosumab, a non‐kidney‐excreted antiresorptive medication, represents a viable alternative to bisphosphonates for osteoporosis treatment in patients with T2DM. This study aimed to investigate the association among denosumab adherence, renal
