Chronic Kidney Disease‐Associated Pruritus Is Linked to Selective Enrichment of Taurine‐Conjugated Bile Acid Subspecies

Chronic kidney disease‐associated pruritus (CKDaP) is a frequent complication of advanced CKD with an incompletely understood pathophysiology. We identified a significantly altered glycine‐to‐taurine conjugated bile acid ratio in patients with CKDaP despite unchanged total serum bile acid concentrations.

Postoperative Hypocalcemia Following Total Thyroidectomy Versus Completion Thyroidectomy

Completion thyroidectomy performed with at least a three‐month interval demonstrates superior parathyroid preservation compared to primary total thyroidectomy, as evidenced by significantly higher postoperative parathyroid hormone levels (51.90 ± 30.26 pg/mL vs. 30.90 ± 17.10 pg/mL, p = 0.006).
