Functional Hydrogel for Modulating Lipid Droplets and Neuroinflammation in Head Injury
After TBI, elevated cholesterol levels in activated microglia lead to the accumulation of cholesterol esters in lipid droplets, exacerbating neuroinflammation. A β‐cyclodextrin‐conjugated GelMA (βCD‐GelMA) hydrogel is developed to promotes cholesterol efflux and reduces LDL influx, thereby alleviating intracellular cholesterol and lipid droplet buildup.

Insights into molecular mechanisms of disease in Neurodegeneration with Brain Iron Accumulation; unifying theories. [PDF]
Neurodegeneration with brain iron accumulation (NBIA) is a group of disorders characterised by dystonia, parkinsonism and spasticity. Iron accumulates in the basal ganglia and may be accompanied by Lewy bodies, axonal swellings and hyperphosphorylated ...

Buckling‐resistant and trace‐stacked (BRATS) intracortical microelectrode arrays (MEAs) eliminate the need for insertion aid and complex surgical setup, resulting in minimal inflammatory tissue response, compared to conventional flexible MEAs inserted with aid. Trace stacking effectively doubled the channel count without increasing the MEA shank width,

Manganese (Mn) is an essential metal, but elevated cellular levels are toxic and may lead to the development of an irreversible parkinsonian-like syndrome that has no treatment. Mn-induced parkinsonism generally occurs as a result of exposure to elevated
