Plasmacytoma of the Parotid Gland
Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1965EXTRAMEDULLARY plasmacytoma is an uncommon type of tumor mostly detectable in the mucous or submucous tissues of the upper respiratory tract and the alimentary canal, the most frequent sites being the nasal cavity and the nasopharynx. The tumor is either solitary or multiple, a polypoid formation, often with ulcerative and bleeding surface. The disease

Sialolipoma of the parotid gland
Journal of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery, 2006A case of slow-enlarging mass of the parotid region in a 44-year-old male is presented, which proved to be a lipomatous tumour of the parotid gland. The clinical impression was that of a benign salivary gland tumour. The tumour was situated in the deep lobe of the gland, thus a total parotidectomy was performed, with preservation of the facial nerve ...

Tuberculosis of the parotid gland
The Journal of Laryngology & Otology, 1998AbstractThe presentation of tuberculosis as an isolated parotid lump is rare. In this paper, six cases with tuberculous parotitis are reported which were evaluated as a benign parotid neoplasm in 216 specimens pre-operatively. All but one of them had no previous history of tuberculosis and all had a parotid lump as a sole symptom for at least one year.

Tuberculosis of the parotid gland
The Journal of Laryngology & Otology, 2005Tuberculosis of the parotid gland is very rare and clinically indistinguishable from a neoplasm. Thus the diagnosis of parotid gland involvement with tuberculosis has traditionally been made after surgical resection. We present a case which was diagnosed on fine needle aspiration cytology and managed medically.

Malakoplakia of the parotid gland
The Journal of Laryngology & Otology, 1988Xanthogranulomatous inflammation is an ubiquitous process that is most commonly observed in the kidney but may be observed in other organs. We report a case of xanthogranulomatous inflammation occurring in an enlarged parotid gland of a 65-year-old man as a result of salivary duct obstruction from sialolithiasis.

Sialocysts of the Parotid Glands
Annals of Otology, Rhinology & Laryngology, 1989Sialocysts of salivary glands are outnumbered greatly by pseudocystic lesions, exemplified by mucoceles. In the major salivary glands, sialocysts are preponderantly lesions of the parotid glands, where they are classified as 1) salivary duct cysts, 2) lymphoepithelial cysts, or 3) dysgenetic or congenital cysts.

Lipomatosis of the parotid gland
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1970During the period 1952—1968 a total of 462 patients with tumours of the parotid gland were subjected to operation in the Department of Otolaryngology, Rikshospitalet, Oslo. In three cases, histological examination revealed lipomatosis of the parotid gland associated with local subcutaneously increased fat deposits.

Carcinoma of the Parotid Gland
Archives of Surgery, 1966CARCINOMAS of the parotid gland account for 10% of all malignant tumors of the anatomical area of the head and neck. Their wide variation in histologic pattern is reflected in a similar variation in clinical behavior. While surgical excision offers the optimal chance of cure, it is complicated by two factors: (1) the lack of an anatomical capsule, thus

Actinomycosis of the parotid gland

Lymphangioma or the Parotid Gland
Annals of Plastic Surgery, 1984Parotid gland tumors in infancy and childhood are rarely seen and infrequently documented. Among them, hemangioendothelioma and mixed tumors are the most common. Parotid lymphangioma is very rare. This report presents a case of parotid lymphangioma and discusses the clinical, gross, and histological features, differential diagnosis, and treatment.
