Finite Difference and Iteration Methods for Fractional Hyperbolic Partial Differential Equations with the Neumann Condition

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2012
The numerical and analytic solutions of the mixed problem for multidimensional fractional hyperbolic partial differential equations with the Neumann condition are presented. The stable difference scheme for the numerical solution of the mixed problem for

INTEGRAL METHODS FOR DESCRIBING PULSATILE FLOW

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2016
This paper presents an approximate solution of the pulsatile flow of a Newtonian fluid in the laminar flow regime in a rigid tube of constant diameter. The model is represented by two ordinary differential equations. The first equation describes the time

Finite Difference Approximation for Linear Stochastic Partial Differential Equations with Method of Lines [PDF]

open access: yes
A stochastic partial differential equation, or SPDE, describes the dynamics of a stochastic process defined on a space-time continuum. This paper provides a new method for solving SPDEs based on the method of lines (MOL).

Conditional Stability for Single Interior Measurement

open access: yes, 2013
An inverse problem to identify unknown coefficients of a partial differential equation by a single interior measurement is considered. The equation considered in this paper is a strongly elliptic second order scalar equation which can have complex ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

A Method of Lines Scheme with Third-Order Finite Differences for Burgers–Huxley Equation

open access: yesAxioms
The Burgers–Huxley equation is a nonlinear partial differential equation that incorporates convective, diffusive and reactive effects and arises in various reaction–diffusion and fluid flow models. In this paper, a numerical method based on the method of

Darboux transformations for 5-point and 7-point self-adjoint schemes and an integrable discretization of the 2D Schrodinger operator

open access: yes, 2003
With this paper we begin an investigation of difference schemes that possess Darboux transformations and can be regarded as natural discretizations of elliptic partial differential equations.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

An Improved Finite Difference Type Numerical Method for Structural Dynamic Analysis

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 1994
An improved finite difference type numerical method to solve partial differential equations for one-dimensional (1-D) structure is proposed. This numerical scheme is a kind of a single-step, second-order accurate and implicit method.

Nonclassical dynamical behavior of solutions of partial differential-difference equations

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
<p>For partial differential-difference equations, a review of results regarding the relation between the type of the equation and dynamical properties of its solutions is provided. This includes the case of elliptic equations with timelike independent variables: Their solutions acquire dynamical properties (more exactly, behave as solutions of ...
