Interlayer Expansion of Bulk MoS2 via Top‐Down Organic Pillaring Enables Tunable Li+ Intercalation and Controlled Solvent Co‐Intercalation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Top‐down organic pillaring expands the interlayer spacing of bulk‐sized MoS2 particles while preserving the bulk morphology. Operando X‐ray diffraction and electrochemical dilatometry show that MoS2‐bulk undergoes solvent co‐intercalation in diglyme electrolyte, causing large structural expansion, while pillared, expanded MoS2 suppresses solvent uptake

Sustainable Electrochemical Synthesis of High‐Quality MXenes: Mechanistic Insights, Applications, Challenges, and Technological Prospects

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrochemical etching provides an eco‐friendly alternative to hazardous HF methods for MXene production. This approach facilitates the selective isolation of the A‐layer from MAX phases with tunable surface terminations. Controlling voltage, electrolytes, temperature, and duration enables the optimal structural integrity. Nevertheless, existing scale

Simulation, VNA Test, and Calibration of Improvement Partial Discharge Detector Using Pi-Attenuator Circuit

open access: yes, 2023
A partial discharge is a localized electrical discharge that partially connects conductors' insulation and could happen near the conductors. IEC-60270 suggests that the direct voltage method can detect partial discharges by utilizing an appropriate ...

COFs on MOFs: Layer‐by‐Layer Synthesis of MOF@COF Nanoparticles with Synergistic Adsorption

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A layer‐by‐layer strategy enables the growth of crystalline covalent organic framework (COF) shells on metal–organic framework nanoparticles, creating core–shell structures with tunable porosity. Ordered interstitial mesopores are formed during shell growth, which are connected with the COF's intrinsic micropores, thereby enhancing water sorption. This

Influence of selected methodology on derived rise time of partial discharge calibrators

open access: yes
IEC60270 has recently undergone revision, but the scope for performance tests on calibrators remains largely the same. Three methods are applicable for determination of partial discharge (PD) calibrator charge and risetime numerical integration, passive ...

Energetic Offset in Organic Solar Cells‐ Importance, Confusion and Outlook

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Energetic offsets in organic solar cells (OSCs) remain a subject of debate due to measurement‐ and lab‐dependent discrepancies. This Perspective clarifies the physical origins of these variations and identifies temperature‐dependent electro‐optical methods as a reliable approach to obtain consistent offset values.

IEC 60270 Calibration Uncertainty in Gas-Insulated Substations

open access: yes, 2023
Partial discharge (PD) measurements in gasinsulated substations (GIS) are tested according to the standard IEC 60270. This “conventional” PD test method applies to electrically small devices.
