Detection Technique of Partial Discharges at Impulse Voltage with Appropriate Filter Settings for Signal Separation

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Due to the increased utilization of electric converters feeding rotating high voltage motors, their insulation is subject to transient impulse and high frequency oscillating voltages.

Separation of sources in radiofrequency measurements of partial discharges using time-power ratio maps.

open access: yesISA transactions, 2015
Partial discharges measurement is one of the most useful tools for condition monitoring of high-voltage (HV) equipment. These phenomena can be measured on-line in radiofrequency (RF) with sensors such as the Vivaldi antenna, used in this paper, which ...

Synergistic Enhancement of Electrical‐Thermal Properties in KH550/G‐POSS Functionalized BN/Epoxy Composites for High‐Frequency Transformer Insulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A BN@G‐POSS/EP nanocomposite is developed for high‐frequency transformer insulation in power electronic transformers. Through synergistic interface engineering, it simultaneously enhances thermal conductivity, reduces viscosity, and improves electro‐thermal stability.

Partial discharge and interference discrimination in gas-insulated systems using electric and magnetic sensors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
The correct identification of partial discharges (PDs) is instrumental for the maintenance plan in gas-insulated systems (GIS). However, onsite PD measurements are difficult, especially in HVDC systems, where partial discharges can be confused with ...

Modelling of partial discharge characteristics in electrical tree channels: Estimating the PD inception and extinction voltages

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation, 2018
Partial discharge (PD) characteristics are inherently linked to associated electrical tree growth characteristics. This paper employs both phase-resolved patterns and pulse-sequence analysis (PSA) to study PDs in a short branch-tree grown from a metallic needle tip.

Finite-difference time-domain simulation of partial discharges in a gas insulated switchgear

open access: yes, 2016
It is important to estimate the current magnitude and charge amount of a partial discharge (PD) in a gas-insulated switchgear (GIS). In this study, electromagnetic fields generated by a PD in an 84 kV-class three-phase GIS for testing have been measured ...

Multiferroic‐Centric Materials and Systems Engineering for Battery Applications: An Insight Into Mechanisms, Strategies, and Characterizations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multiferroic order parameters – polarization, magnetization, and ferroelastic strain – are positioned as dynamic design variables for batteries. Their mechanistic roles, practical tuning through fabrication and external fields, and ferroic‐resolved characterization routes are unified into a closed‐loop framework, revealing how coupled ferroic responses

Allosteric Inhibition of Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 by an EZH2‐Selective Small Molecule Inhibitor

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study characterizes C36, a highly selective EZH2/PRC2 inhibitor that acts via a novel allosteric mechanism. Unlike previous inhibitors, C36 inhibits EZH2/PRC2 by disrupting the allosteric communication between EZH2 and EED in a SAM‐noncompetitive manner.
