Decomposition Characteristics of SF6 and Partial Discharge Recognition under Negative DC Conditions

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
Four typical types of artificial defects are designed in conducting the decomposition experiments of SF6 gas to obtain and understand the decomposition characteristics of SF6 gas-insulated medium under different types of negative DC partial discharge (DC-

Partial Discharge Source Classification in Power Transformers: A Systematic Literature Review

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Power transformers, like other High-Voltage (HV) electrical equipment, experience aging and insulation degradation due to chemical, mechanical and electrical forces during their operation. Partial discharges (PD) are among the most predominant insulation

A System Based on Artificial Neural Networks for Automatic Classification of Hydro-generator Stator Windings Partial Discharges

open access: yes, 2017
Partial discharge (PD) monitoring is widely used in rotating machines to evaluate the condition of stator winding insulation, but its practice on a large scale requires the development of intelligent systems that automatically process these measurement ...

Additive‐Manufactured, Multifunctional Bioreactor Technology for Dynamic Culture of 3D Bioprinted Tissue Models

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We introduce an additively manufactured bioreactor with a perfusion flow system and integrated temperature and pH sensors for skeletal muscle tissue biofabrication. The bioreactor's performance was evaluated by assessing the viability, spreading of the myoblast cells in a printed scaffold, and contraction of the isolated murine musculi interossei ...

Comparison of the Performance of Artificial Neural Networks and Fuzzy Logic for Recognizing Different Partial Discharge Sources

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
This paper compared the capabilities of the artificial neural network (ANN) and the fuzzy logic (FL) approaches for recognizing and discriminating partial discharge (PD) fault classes.

Intelligent Sky Guardians (InSkyGuard): An Aerial Robotic Swarm for Autonomous Detection and Entrapment of Rogue Multirotors

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Intelligent Sky Guardians (InSkyGuard) is introduced as a four‐drone swarm that autonomously detects, tracks, and safely captures rogue drones using a coordinated net system. Computer vision and leader–follower control architecture enable synchronized enclosure, while integrated failsafes enhance system reliability. Validated through closed‐environment

Partial Discharges Acceptance Criteria for AC Rotating Machines Insulation Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access
A new pass/fail criterion based on the shape analysis of phase-resolved Partial Discharges (PRPD) patterns is proposed in this study to overcome the problems generated by the use of partial discharge (PD) amplitude threshold levels.

Statistical Analysis of Partial Discharges in SF6 Gas via Optical Detection in Various Spectral Ranges

open access: yes, 2016
Partial discharge (PD) detection is essential to the operation of high-voltage systems. In this context, we investigate the basic characteristics of light emission during PDs in SF 6 gas from the perspective of insulation diagnosis.

A Brain‐Wide Atlas of Astrocytic Oxytocin Receptors Reveals a Glial Basis for Nucleus Accumbens Modulation of Affiliative Behavior

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The cellular actors of oxytocin signaling are under intense scrutiny. A brain‐wide anatomical and functional analysis in mice and rats reveals widespread expression of oxytocin receptors in astrocytes. These receptors are functionally active and, in the nucleus accumbens, selectively regulate male social affiliation.
