Petrogenesis of mafic-intermediate magmatism of the Michoacán–Guanajuato volcanic field in Western Mexico. A geochemical review

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2022
The Michoacán–Guanajuato volcanic field (MGVF) in the western Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt is one of the largest and most diverse monogenetic volcanic fields in the world holding more than 1200 volcanic vents.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Neoproterozoic magmatic accretion and Pan-African reworking-differentiation of mafic crust derived from an enriched mantle: evidences from structural analysis, petrology and geochemistry of the Ketté gold district (Eastern Cameroon)

open access: yesBSGF - Earth Sciences Bulletin
The gold-rich Ketté formations belong to the Adamawa-Yadé block of the Neoproterozoic Central Africa Orogenic Belt. They consist of a complex association of tonalite, granodiorite, and heterogeneous granite including rafts of metapyroxenite, amphibolite,

Tectono-metamorphic evolution and timing of the melting processes in the Svecofennian Tonalite-Trondhjemite Migmatite Belt: An example from Luopioinen, Tampere area, southern Finland [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Geological Society of Finland, 1999
The Svecofennian Orogen is in southern Finland characterized by two major migmatite belts. These are the so-called Granite Migmatite Belt, in which Kfs-rich leucosomes predominate, and the Tonalite-Trondhjemite Migmatite Belt, which is characterized by ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Temperature Distribution of Particles in a Laser Beam

open access: yesIranian Journal of Materials Science and Engineering, 2018
This article studies the particle temperature distribution depending on the laser radiation power and the particle’s trajectory and velocity. The uneven heating of particles moving in the laser radiation field is identified.

Tracking the exhumation of a Pliocene (U)HP terrane: U‐Pb and trace‐element constraints from zircon, D'Entrecasteaux Islands, Papua New Guinea

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2014
Domal structures within the D'Entrecasteaux Islands of eastern Papua New Guinea expose ultrahigh‐pressure (UHP) Pliocene (5.6–4.6 Ma) eclogites and evidence for partial melting.

Evolution of the volcanic mechanism in the central part of the Urumieh-Dokhtar magmatic arc

open access: yesJournal of Economic Geology, 2021
Introduction Cenozoic volcanic activities in the Urumieh-Dokhtar Magmatic Arc (UDMA) have occurred in three main pulses of Eocene, upper Oligocene-Pliocene, and Pio-Quaternary (Dilek et al., 2010, Sayari, 2015).

Spontaneous small‐scale melt segregation in partial melts undergoing deformation [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 1989
A partial melt undergoing large scale deformation is shown to be unstable with respect to small scale redistribution of melt, provided the shear viscosity of the matrix depends on melt fraction. In the physically realistic case where melt “softens” the matrix, melt migrates along the direction parallel to the axis of minimum compressive stress and ...
