Mechanisms of parasite‐mediated disruption of brain vessels

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Parasites can affect the blood vessels of the brain, often causing serious neurological problems. This review explains how different parasites interact with and disrupt these vessels, what this means for brain health, and why these processes matter. Understanding these mechanisms may help us develop better ways to prevent or treat brain infections in ...

Existence and uniqueness of positive solutions to a fourth-order two-point boundary-value problem

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
In this article, we study the existence and uniqueness of positive solutions for a class of semi-linear, fourth order two point boundary value problems. Some examples are presented to illustrate our main results.

Conrad’s Partial Order on P.Q.-Baer *-Rings

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications, 2018
We prove that a p.q.-Baer *-ring forms a pseudo lattice with Conrad’s partial order and also characterize p.q.-Baer *-rings which are lattices. The initial segments of a p.q.-Baer *-ring with the Conrad’s partial order are shown to be an orthomodular ...

Nonlinear differential equation with first order partial derivatives

open access: yesВестник КазНУ. Серия математика, механика, информатика, 2018
The asymptotic behavior of solutions of a nonlinear differential equation with first-order partial derivatives solved with respect to one of the derivatives is investigated.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

The Fujiki class and positive degree maps

open access: yesComplex Manifolds, 2015
We show that a map between complex-analytic manifolds, at least one ofwhich is in the Fujiki class, is a biholomorphism under a natural condition on the second cohomologies.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
