Computably Enumerable Partial Orders [PDF]

open access: yesComputability, 2012
We study the degree spectra and reverse-mathematical applications of computably enumerable and co-computably enumerable partial orders. We formulate versions of the chain/antichain principle and ascending/descending sequence principle for such orders, and show that the former is strictly stronger than the latter.

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Concept-Oriented Model: Extending Objects with Identity, Hierarchies and Semantics [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Science Journal of Moldova, 2012
The concept-oriented data model (COM) is an emerging approach to data modeling which is based on three novel principles: duality, inclusion and order.

Intersection numbers from higher-order partial differential equations

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We propose a new method for the evaluation of intersection numbers for twisted meromorphic n-forms, through Stokes’ theorem in n dimensions. It is based on the solution of an n-th order partial differential equation and on the evaluation of multivariate ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

On Structural Characterization and Computation of the Diameter and Girth of Bipartite Gap Poset Graphs with Python Application

open access: yesAxioms
In this article, a correspondence between some important classes of numerical semigroups and well-known families of bipartite graphs has been established.

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

On Protected Quasi-Metrics

open access: yesAxioms
In this paper, we introduce and examine the notion of a protected quasi-metric. In particular, we give some of its properties and present several examples of distinguished topological spaces that admit a compatible protected quasi-metric, such as the ...

Partial Schauder estimates for second-order elliptic and parabolic equations

open access: yes, 2010
We establish Schauder estimates for both divergence and non-divergence form second-order elliptic and parabolic equations involving H\"older semi-norms not with respect to all, but only with respect to some of the independent variables.Comment: CVPDE ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...
