Global Distribution of Human Protoparvoviruses
Development of next-generation sequencing and metagenomics has revolutionized detection of novel viruses. Among these viruses are 3 human protoparvoviruses: bufavirus, tusavirus, and cutavirus.

An Ancient Lineage of Highly Divergent Parvoviruses Infects both Vertebrate and Invertebrate Hosts
Chapparvoviruses (ChPVs) comprise a divergent, recently identified group of parvoviruses (family Parvoviridae), associated with nephropathy in immunocompromised laboratory mice and with prevalence in deep sequencing results of livestock showing diarrhea.

Novel Amdoparvovirus Infecting Farmed Raccoon Dogs and Arctic Foxes
A new amdoparvovirus, named raccoon dog and fox amdoparvovirus (RFAV), was identified in farmed sick raccoon dogs and arctic foxes. Phylogenetic analyses showed that RFAV belongs to a new species within the genus Amdoparvovirus of the family Parvoviridae.

Human Bocavirus in French Children
Human bocavirus (HBoV), a new member of the genus Bocavirus in the family Parvoviridae, has been recently associated with respiratory tract infections. We report the epidemiologic and clinical features observed from a 1-year retrospective study of HBoV ...

Severe respiratory tract infections with human bocavirus in children [PDF]
Acute respiratory tract infection remains a major cause of childhood hospitalization and mortality in young children. Human bocavirus (HBoV) is a virus belonging to the Parvoviridae family, which has been newly discovered to be associated with ...

Comparative analysis of the extent of protein-protein interactions in icosahedral viral capsids. [PDF]
Abstract Nonenveloped viruses package, carry, and deliver their genomes to the targeted cells using protein shells known as capsids. The viral capsids come in different shapes and sizes, most exhibiting helical or icosahedral symmetries. Here, we analyzed 634 icosahedral capsids at high resolution (<4 Å) from 39 virus families with T‐numbers ranging ...

The Fecal Virome of Children with Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease that Tested PCR Negative for Pathogenic Enteroviruses. [PDF]
Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) affects infant and young children. A viral metagenomic approach was used to identify the eukaryotic viruses in fecal samples from 29 Thai children with clinical diagnosis of HFMD collected during the 2012 outbreak ...

Human-stool-associated tusavirus (Parvoviridae) in domestic goats and sheep
AbstractIn this study, genetic counterparts of the human-stool-associated tusavirus (subfamily Parvovirinae, family Parvoviridae) with >97% and 95-100% amino acid sequence identity in the parvoviral NS1 and VP1 protein were identified in faecal specimens from domestic goats (Capra hircus) and sheep (Ovis aries) in Hungary.
