Phagophore closure, autophagosome maturation and autophagosome fusion during macroautophagy in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae

Significant progress has been made in understanding autophagosome formation and the roles of autophagy‐related proteins. This article addresses three less‐understood steps of autophagy in yeast: phagophore closure, autophagosome maturation, and autophagosome fusion with the vacuole.
