Tuning rules for passivity-preserving controllers [PDF]
Nonlinear Passivity-based control (PBC) algorithms for power converters have proven to be an interesting alternative for other, mostly linear, control techniques. The control objective is usually achieved through an energy reshaping process and by injecting damping to modify the dissipation structure of the system.

Latching and Declutching Control of the Solo Duck Wave-Energy Converter with Different Load Types
The solo duck wave-energy converter (WEC) captures power in a point absorber manner, hence it exhibits high power-capture efficiency within only a narrow bandwidth. Passive control is characterized by a unidirectional power flow, and thus its engineering

Soil–Structure Interaction Consideration for Base Isolated Structures under Earthquake Excitation
This study aims to analytically implement base isolation with soil–structure interaction (SSI) on a sample structure and to develop a very simple solution to add these combined effects into the mass, damping and stiffness matrices of the structure.

Introduction of a new elliptical damper for seismic energy dissipation of civil structures [PDF]
In this paper, a new energy dissipative device named elliptical damper was introduced for passive control of structures. In the proposed damper, the energy dissipation capacity is provided by the shear deformation of the elliptical ring.

Vibration suppression for high speed railway bridges using fluid viscous dampers [PDF]
The results of experimental and theoritical investigations of railway bridges have shown the significant dynamic responses exceeding that anticipated on certain railway bridges, such as a resonance phenomenon who have a great effect in the bridge ...

Compositions of passive boundary control systems
We show under mild assumptions that a composition of internally well-posed, impedance passive (or conservative) boundary control systems through Kirchhoff type connections is also an internally well-posed, impedance passive (resp., conservative) boundary control system. The proof is based on results of Malinen and Staffans [21].
