Progress in mixed Eulerian-Lagrangian finite element simulation of forming processes [PDF]
A review is given of a mixed Eulerian-Lagrangian finite element method for simulation of forming processes. This method permits incremental adaptation of nodal point locations independently from the actual material displacements.

The dual roles of CC and CXC chemokines in distinguishing active, latent, and subclinical tuberculosis were reviewed, along with an evaluation of their potential as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets to advance precision medicine in tuberculosis management. The graphical abstract was generated with AI assistance (Gemini 3.0).

A new smoothing homotopy algorithm for second-order cone problems
In this paper, we introduce a new class of CHKS smoothing functions and show that the new smoothing functions possess a system of desirable properties.

Quenched central limit theorem for the stochastic heat equation in weak disorder
We continue with the study of the mollified stochastic heat equation in $d\geq 3$ given by $d u_{\epsilon,t}=\frac 12\Delta u_{\epsilon,t}+ \beta \epsilon^{(d-2)/2} \,u_{\epsilon,t} \,d B_{\epsilon,t}$ with spatially smoothened cylindrical Wiener process

ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...

Global Path Planning of Unmanned Surface Vehicle Based on Improved A-Star Algorithm
To make unmanned surface vehicles that are better applied to the field of environmental monitoring in inland rivers, reservoirs, or coasts, we propose a global path-planning algorithm based on the improved A-star algorithm. The path search is carried out

Thermoreflectance Detection of Point Defects Resulting from Focused Ion Beam Milling
Focused ion beam (FIB) milling is a common tool for nanoscale material processing, however irradiation damage, redeposition, and contamination can occur. We use several characterization tools to show FIB‐induced effects beyond 1 mm from the milled area.

Rough path conditions for smooth paths
We show that there exist non-trivial smooth paths that have rough path property. The applications and the related open problems are also discussed.

Smoothing of Piecewise Linear Paths [PDF]
We present an anytime-capable fast deterministic greedy algorithm for smoothing piecewise linear paths consisting of connected linear segments. With this method, path points with only a small influence on path geometry (i.e. aligned or nearly aligned points) are successively removed.
