Neurofilament light chain as in vitro and clinical biomarker of vincristine‐induced peripheral neuropathy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aims Vincristine‐induced peripheral neuropathy (VIPN) is a common side effect in children and adolescents treated with vincristine. Assessing VIPN, especially in young children, is challenging due to a lack of sensitive tools. This limits our understanding of the nature and risk factors of VIPN. This study aimed to investigate neurofilament light chain

First‐in‐human, phase I, randomized, safety, pharmacokinetic, food‐effect and pharmacodynamic study of a tyrosine kinase 2/Janus kinase 1 inhibitor, SDC‐1801

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aim The purpose of this study is to evaluate safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), food‐effect (FE) and pharmacodynamics (PD) of an oral tyrosine kinase‐2 (TYK2)/Janus kinase‐1 (JAK1) inhibitor, SDC‐1801, in healthy adult participants. Methods This first‐in‐human study randomized 95 male and female participants.

A comparison between subpleural patient-controlled analgesia by bupivacaine and intermittent analgesia in post-operative thoracotomy: A double-blind randomized clinical trial

open access: yesJournal of Research in Medical Sciences, 2011
Background: The efficacy of subpleural analgesia to reduce postoperative pain intensity in patients after lateral thoracotomy is controversial. In this study, we demonstrated the efficacy of two types of subpleural analgesia.

Cardiovascular and neuropsychiatric outcomes with PCSK9 inhibitors in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease: A retrospective cohort study

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Study design and main findings. After 1:1 propensity score matching, 60 885 PCSK9 inhibitor users and 60 885 statin‐only users with ASCVD were compared. Kaplan–Meier curves show 12‐month cumulative event‐free survival for MACE, psychiatric disease, and neurodegenerative disease.

Patient-controlled analgesia for infants and children

open access: yesМедицина болю, 2017
Patients cotrolled analgesia (PCA) pump is an analgesic system where the patient is being deliverd a continuous minimal basal infusion of analgesics (mostly opioids), and the patient can delivere himself an additional bolus of drug by pushing the button.

Gabapentinoids‐duloxetine combination therapy for chronic pain: A mechanism oriented rational to bridge theoretical knowledge and real life setting

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Chronic pain represents a complex debilitating condition that extends beyond the protective function of physiological pain, often persisting as an independent disease entity. Chronic primary and secondary pain syndromes reflect a multifaceted continuum involving nociceptive, neuropathic and nociplastic mechanisms.

Management of severe bone loss in patients at risk of medication‐related osteonecrosis of the jaw with microsurgery and guided bone regeneration: A case study

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Medication‐related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) is a challenging complication associated with antiresorptive medications. Its exact pathophysiology remains unclear, but dental extractions and infections are known triggers, complicating prevention, and treatment.
