Anaphylactic swelling passively transferred to the hind paws of mice with homologous antibodies was investigated. The ascites fluid containing homocytotropic antibodies of the IgG1 class in a high concentration was obtained by repeated injections of bovine serum albumin in complete Freund's adjuvant into the peritoneal cavity of female ICR mice.

Paw Preferences in Dogs

The distribution of paw preferences were studied in 28 dogs. The paw preference was assessed by counting the right and left paw movements performed to remove an adhesive plaster from the eyes. The significance of the right minus left paw reaches in percentages was evaluated statistically in each animal.

PAW PREFERENCE IN RATS

We applied a food-reaching test to investigate paw preference in 114 Spraque-Dawley rats and to determine whether a correlation exists between paw preference and gender. We found that 70.2% of rats were right-pawed, 19.3% were left-pawed, and 11.9% were ambidextrous.
