Arteriolar degeneration and stiffness in cerebral amyloid angiopathy are linked to Aβ deposition and lysyl oxidase

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract INTRODUCTION The morphological and molecular changes associated with the degeneration of arterioles in cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) are incompletely understood. METHODS Post mortem brains from 26 patients with CAA or neurological controls were analyzed using light‐sheet microscopy, and morphological features of microvascular degeneration ...

A Comprehensive Review of Mitochondrial Complex I During Mammalian Oocyte Maturation

open access: yesgenesis, Volume 63, Issue 3, June 2025.
ABSTRACT This review provides a comprehensive overview of Complex I during mammalian oocyte maturation. Complex I (NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase) is a crucial member of the electron transport chain and serves two principal functions during oxidative phosphorylation: NADH oxidation and proton pumping.

Pitfalls and Strategies for Measuring Menopausal Stage in Eating Disorder Studies of Women in Midlife

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, Volume 58, Issue 6, Page 1008-1017, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Objective Researchers are increasingly interested in exploring the role of the menopausal transition in eating disorder risk. We recently embarked on studies of this critical life phase and encountered significant challenges in assessing menopausal status that limited our ability to test study hypotheses.

Research on Optimal Charge Structure Selection and Active Control Methods for Subgrade Bench Blasting Based on Multi‐Objective Optimization

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 6, Page 2874-2890, June 2025.
ABSTRACT To reduce the peak vibration velocity (PPV) of subgrade bench blasting vibration, the control variable method was used to analyze the blasting effect of different charging methods. Initially, the control variable method was used to evaluate the blasting performance of different charge structures.

Evaluating the Anti‐Oxidant and Anti‐Inflammatory Properties of Watercress Supplementation at Short‐Term Follow‐Up: A Systematic Review of Randomized Controlled Trials

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 6, June 2025.
This systematic review highlights the antioxidant and anti‐inflammatory effects of watercress (WC) supplementation in randomized controlled trials. Despite the heterogeneity in WC formulations, dosage, follow‐up, and outcomes, WC demonstrated improvements in biomarkers such as IL‐1, IL‐6, TNF‐α, and antioxidant enzymes.

The Clinical and Metabolic Profiles in Menstrual Changes Among Reproductive‐Aged Women Post‐COVID‐19

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 6, June 2025.
This study recruited 253 Chinese women of reproductive age and post‐COVID‐19 infection. Serious factors, including age and perceived stress, contribute to menstrual changes while general medical condition was the only independent risk factor. Notable metabolic change existed in group with any menstruation changes, with special sex hormone: T decreased ...
