Survey of Optical Velocimetry Experiments - Applications of PDV, A Heterodyne Velocimeter

open access: yes2006 IEEE International Conference on Megagauss Magnetic Field Generation and Related Topics, 2006
Optical velocimetry has been an important experimental diagnostic for many experiments. Recent improvements to heterodyne techniques have resulted in compact, inexpensive and high performance velocimetry measurement systems. We report on developments and

Thermogenesis‐derived spatiotemporal microclimates guide pollinator movement to ensure pollination

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
Alocasia odora's microclimatic heterogeneity guides Colocasiomyia fly movement within its inflorescence. During the female stage, midday heat in the upper spadix pushes flies down to the cooler female zone. During the male stage, nocturnal warmth in the upper part pulls flies upward and spathe constriction closes the lower female chamber.

Pinus‐derived membrane vesicles disrupt pathogenic metabolism in fungi

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Needle‐derived vesicles from pine trees impair fungal metabolism and growth, offering a sustainable strategy to control pine pitch canker disease. Abstract Much of what we know about the biological impacts of vesicles (MVs) is derived from Arabidopsis thaliana.

Validation of Health Belief Model and Theory of Planned Behaviour Constructs for Predicting Malaria Vaccine Acceptance in Ghana: A Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling Approach

open access: yesTropical Medicine &International Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim This study examines the predictive power of constructs from the health belief model (HBM) and theory of planned behaviour (TPB) in explaining malaria vaccine acceptance in Ghana in the post‐COVID‐19 era, while also assessing the reliability of these constructs within this context.

Interannual‐Decadal Hydroclimatic Variability in the Southern Himalaya Over the Past 500 Years: Mechanisms From MADA‐PHYDA Integration

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 15, 16 August 2026.
Abstract Understanding the drivers of interannual‐to‐decadal hydroclimatic variability in the southern Himalaya (SH) has been constrained by the scarcity of long‐term, spatially comprehensive proxy records and data assimilation products. Here, we combine the Monsoon Asia Drought Atlas (MADA) and the Paleo Hydrodynamics Data Assimilation (PHYDA) to ...

Polydnavirus Symbiont Detected from Calyx TissuesWasps of Three Lepidopteran Cabbage Pests

open access: yesMicrobiology Indonesia, 2012
Parasitoid wasps are a potent biological control agent in the field. The successful of parasitism are determined by several factors, among them by the presence of polydnavirus (PDV) symbiont that could break down the immunity mechanism of its host.We ...

Energy‐Efficient Electrocoagulation Under Pulsed Voltage: Toward Sustainable Phosphate Capture and Water Circularity

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, Volume 21, Issue 15, 14 August 2026.
Energy‐efficient electrocoagulation for phosphate removal is enabled by pulsed direct voltage (PDV), with SS/Al dissimilar electrodes. At 5 Hz, 80.0% ± 1.3% phosphate is removed in 20 min with 186–209 g/kWh efficiency. ABSTRACT Electrocoagulation (EC) is an electrochemical wastewater treatment technique that removes contaminants via in situ generation ...

Extrapolating Vincristine‐Induced Peripheral Neuropathy From Caucasian to Kenyan Populations: Impact of Type I and Type II Selection Bias

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Vincristine is a cornerstone of pediatric chemotherapy, but its use is limited by vincristine‐induced peripheral neuropathy (VIPN). Paradoxically, African children tolerate higher vincristine doses with minimal neurotoxicity, raising questions about the pharmacological mechanisms and model generalizability across populations. In this study, we
