Percutaneous device closure of persistent ductus venosus presenting with hemoptysis

open access: yesAnnals of Pediatric Cardiology, 2013
An eight-year-old boy was evaluated for unexplained hemoptysis and cyanosis. A contrast echocardiogram was suggestive of pulmonary arteriovenous fistula. Further evaluation revealed persistent ductus venosus (PDV) and aortopulmonary collaterals. Both the

FiN‐Kiri: Fabric‐Based Inflatable Kirigami Actuator for Multimodal Soft Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This study introduces a type of inflatable fabric‐based kirigami actuator capable of performing bending motion. The actuator is utilized as soft grippers, a crawling robot and a swimming robot. The crawling robot demonstrated extraordinary motion capabilities, such as moving forward, turning and navigating a narrow tunnel.

PDV — a PVSS Data Viewer Application

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2011
The four main LHC experiments and the accelerator department have agreed to use a unique commercial SCADA system, PVSS II from ETM (Austria) for detector and accelerator slow control purposes, in order to ease connection and exchange of data among all collaborators and to minimise central support effort for commonly used software and LHC specific ...

Trigonal Phosphine Umpolung: Electrophilicity Driven by a Redox‐Active Boron Cluster

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Coupling of a phosphine to a redox‐active cluster enables polarity reversal, or umpolung, at phosphorus. Phosphines are classically known for their nucleophilicity, and while electrophilic reactivity has been observed in geometrically constrained, non‐trigonal systems, similar behavior in ordinary trigonal phosphines is rare.

Preferred Time Scales of Pacific Decadal Variability During the Last Millennium Related to Volcanic Activity

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Pacific Decadal Variability (PDV) plays a significant role in modulating the global climate change on decadal time scale. Although various reconstructions of the PDV have been developed for the last millennium, preferred time scales of the PDV and ...

Ultrahigh‐Order Harmonic Mode‐Locked Optoelectronic Oscillator

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This article demonstrates a record‐breaking microwave frequency comb generator using an ultrahigh‐harmonic‐order mode‐locked optoelectronic oscillator. By integrating dual recirculating loops into a low‐coherence system, the researchers achieved a harmonic order of 956 with superior noise suppression.
