PDV experiments on shock-loaded particles
We present results from PDV (Photonic Doppler Velocimetry, also known as HetV -Heterodyne Velocimetry) experiments in which particles are ejected from shock-loaded metallic plates.

PDV Probe Alignment Technique [PDF]
This alignment technique was developed while performing heterodyne velocimetry measurements at LLNL. There are a few minor items needed, such as a white card with aperture in center, visible alignment laser, IR back reflection meter, and a microscope to view the bridge surface. The work was performed on KCP flyers that were 6 and 8 mils wide.

Geopolymers are presented as a chemically programmable platform whose properties emerge from activation chemistry, nanoscale disorder, and interfacial design. The review highlights sustainability challenges, the shift toward nanoengineered and hybrid systems, and the rise of halloysite‐based architectures enabling tunable structures across scales for ...

Phocine Distemper Virus: Current Knowledge and Future Directions
Phocine distemper virus (PDV) was first recognized in 1988 following a massive epidemic in harbor and grey seals in north-western Europe. Since then, the epidemiology of infection in North Atlantic and Arctic pinnipeds has been investigated.

Our findings reveal that breeding phenology of the common lizard is shaped by strong thermal plasticity, body size effects, constant selection for earlier parturition, but low heritability. This suggests that phenological responses to climate change in this species, and likely in other squamates, will predominantly arise through plastic rather than ...

A Survey of Methods for Constructing 3D Urban Models From Point Clouds
The survey outlines a general process for constructing 3D models from point clouds and categorizes the methods based on their use of templates, basic surface primitives, hybrid approaches, or linear primitives. Additionally, the survey reviews the datasets and benchmarks that are essential for testing and training the developed methods.

Cotesia glomerata polydnavirus and venom, either alone or in combination, affect colonisation by members of the arthropod community in a natural field setting. Plants damaged by P. brassicae injected with both polydnavirus and venom were colonised more often by Mamestra brassicae caterpillars, Myzus persicae aphids and aphid parasitoids compared to ...
