Abstract This study investigated the nature of the association between spatial ability and prosocial behaviour in middle childhood. We used a general‐population longitudinal survey from the United Kingdom, which allowed us to control for a wide range of area, family and child covariates, including early verbal ability and parenting, in a large sample ...

Orchard Management Influences Predation of Halyomorpha halys Eggs
We investigated predation of eggs of the invasive stink bug Halyomorpha halys on apple trees in conventional, organic, and extensively managed Dutch orchards. Predation exceeded 40% in extensively managed orchards but was only about 10% in conventional and organic ones. We used camera traps to reveal natural enemies that may contribute to H.

We developed and field‐validated a fully automated trap for Cydia pomonella monitoring, combining a camera with a YOLOv8 object‐detection model for remote insect identification. In controlled laboratory validation, the model showed strong performance (precision 0.77, recall 0.83), with moderate reductions under field conditions. Across six experiments,

Yeasts that specialize in flower nectar play an important role in pollination ecology. Metschnikowia reukaufii and Metschnikowia koreensis were the most prevalent nectar yeasts found in our field sites. Bee pollinators exhibited different behavioural responses to nectar yeasts in field experiments. Bees visited more flowers with M.

A Lyman Break Galaxy in the Epoch of Reionization from Hubble Space Telescope (HST) Grism Spectroscopy [PDF]
Slitless grism spectroscopy from space offers dramatic advantages for studying high redshift galaxies: high spatial resolution to match the compact sizes of the targets, a dark and uniform sky background, and simultaneous observation over fields ranging ...

“The Growth of Interest”. Richard Wollheim on F. H. Bradley's Moral Psychology
Abstract This paper aims to reconstruct two key stages of Richard Wollheim's engagement with the moral psychology of F. H. Self‐Knowledge and the Capacity to Judge
Abstract Several philosophers have sought to explain certain features of self‐knowledge our beliefs on the basis of the relation which holds between them and our judgments. Typically, these philosophers presuppose that there is just a single relation between these, for instance the relation of identity.
