Agathis australis Root‐Associated Fungi Inhibit Phytophthora Pathogens In Vitro and Demonstrate Tolerance to Phosphite

open access: yesPlant Pathology, Volume 75, Issue 6, November‐December 2026.
Fungal isolates isolated from kauri (Agathis australis) roots were screened for their inhibition of Phytophthora agathidicida (the pathogen responsible for kauri dieback disease) in dual cultures. We then investigated how phosphite (a chemical treatment for kauri dieback) affects the growth and antagonistic capabilities of fungal isolates that ...

Safety evaluation of the food enzyme glucan 1,4‐α‐glucosidase from the non‐genetically modified Aspergillus niger strain AN‐SHGA‐100

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 24, Issue 11, November 2026.
Abstract The food enzyme glucan 1,4‐α‐glucosidase (4‐α‐D‐glucan α‐glucohydrolase; EC 3.2.1.3) is produced with the non‐genetically modified Aspergillus niger strain AN‐SHGA‐100 by Suntaq International Limited. The description of the food enzyme manufacturing process provided by the applicant refers to a pectinase and not to the food enzyme under ...

Unified Approach for the Synthesis of Close Analogues of Reverse‐Prenylated Hexahydropyrrolo Indole Alkaloids

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 39, 22 October 2026.
A simple, modular, and unified strategy for the synthesis of reverse‐prenylated hexahydropyrrolo indole alkaloids has been developed. An unusual retrosynthetic disconnection allows for the late introduction of a side chain, which distinguishes many members of this class of natural products.
