Effects of Oudemansiella radicata polysaccharide on postharvest quality of oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) and its antifungal activity against Penicillium digitatum

, 2020
The effects of a water-soluble polysaccharide from Oudemansiella radicata (ORWP) on the postharvest quality of Pleurotus ostreatus were investigated. In the present work, oyster mushroom was divided into four groups which were treated separately with ...

Evaluating the use of biosensors for monitoring of Penicillium digitatum infection in citrus fruit

, 2020
Penicillium digitatum is a major postharvest pathogen in citrus fruit that causes losses in all citrus-growing countries. In this study, a new whole-cell-based biosensor was developed to detect the fungus’ presence in oranges.

The Suppression of Penicillium Digitatum by Extracts of GFT-Compost

1996
There is a suppressive character described for several kinds of compost against soil borne pathogens (fungi). In this experiment there was a suppression of Penicillium digitatum in vitro after addition of extracts of GFT-compost or Hoogmeerturf (a white peat). Although there are only a few sources who reports a suppressive character of peat.

Incorporation of pyruvate-C14 into ethylene by Penicillium digitatum sacc

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1964
Abstract Penicillium digitatum NRRL 1202 isolate grown aerially on a citrate synthetic medium yielded colonies that incorporated pyruvate-C 14 into ethylene. The relative specific activities of ethylene from pyruvate-3-C 14 , pyruvate-2-C 14 , and pyruvate-1-C 14 were C-3 ⪢ C-2 > C-1. After the initial variability for entry of C 14 into ethylene

Effect of octanal on the mycelial growth of Penicillium italicum and P. digitatum

World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2013
The present study investigated the antifungal activity of octanal against Penicillium italicum and P. digitatum. Results showed that octanal exhibited strong antifungal activity against the test pathogens in a dose-dependent manner. Scanning electron microscopy observation revealed that octanal obviously altered the morphology of P.

The nature of macerating factor of Penicillium digitatum saccardo

Phytochemistry, 1968
Abstract The pectic enzymes produced by Penicillium digitatum , which invades oranges, have been compared with those produced by P. notatum which does not attack oranges. The differences found are discussed in relation to the ability of the culture filtrate of P. digitatum to macerate orange-rind tissue.
