Chicken and Rabbit Antibodies against Porcine Pepsinogen A

open access: yesPrague Medical Report, 2015
Isolated porcine pepsinogen A was used for the preparation of polyclonal rabbit and polyclonal chicken anti-pepsinogen A antibodies. Immunochemical properties of both immunoglobulin fractions were compared.

Development of a Radioimmunoassay for Bovine Pepsinogen A

open access: yesRevue d’Elevage et de Médecine Vétérinaire des Pays Tropicaux, 2005
Pepsinogen A is the most abundant zymogen found in blood, and its enzymatic measurement is used for the diagnosis of gastric lesions. The present study was conducted to develop a radioimmunoassay (RIA) specific to pepsinogen A in bovine plasma.

Expression and Clinical Significance of Pepsinogen C in Resectable Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesThe International Journal of Biological Markers, 2001
Pepsinogen C is an aspartyl-proteinase usually involved in the digestion of proteins in the stomach, and an androgen- inducible protein in breast cancer cells.

Pepsinogen A/pepsinogen C or pepsinogen A multiplied by gastrin in the diagnosis of gastric cancer?

open access: yesThe Italian journal of gastroenterology, 1991
Being pepsinogen A (PGA) levels generally reduced and pepsinogen C (PGC) increased in gastric cancer patients, PGA/PGC ratio has been proposed as a useful marker of the tumour. We tested PGA, PGC and Gastrin (G) levels in patients with gastric cancer (39) and, as a control, in patients with epithelial dysplasia (21), chronic atrophic gastritis (57 ...

Expression and Clinical Significance of Pepsinogen C in Uveal Melanomas

open access: yesThe International Journal of Biological Markers, 2004
Purpose we investigated by immunohistochemistry the pepsinogen C (pepC) expression in uveal melanomas and analyzed the possible relationship to clinicopathological parameters and prognostic significance.

Radioimmunoassay of Human Pepsinogen A and Pepsinogen C [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, 1989
We describe the development of radioimmunoassays to measure both human pepsinogen A and pepsinogen C concentrations in serum. The antibodies were raised in goats by immunization with purified pepsinogen A or C. The affinity constants of the respective antibodies were 20.10(10) l/mol and 7.10(10) l/mol.

SERUM PEPSINOGEN I AND PEPSINOGEN II AS NON-INVASIVE BIOMARKERS FOR THE DIAGNOSIS OF CHRONIC ATROPHIC GASTRITIS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of IMAB, 2022
Atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia of the gastric mucosa are major risk factors for the development of an intestinal type of gastric cancer.

Assessment of Serum Pepsinogens with and without Co-Testing with Gastrin-17 in Gastric Cancer Risk Assessment—Results from the GISTAR Pilot Study

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2022
Introduction––Serum pepsinogen tests for gastric cancer screening have been debated for decades. We assessed the performance of two pepsinogen assays with or without gastrin-17 for the detection of different precancerous lesions alone or as a composite ...

Pepsinogen and Pepsin [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of General Physiology, 1962
Evidence relating to the structure and properties of swine pepsinogen and pepsin has been reviewed and used to suggest a tentative two dimensional picture of the skeleton of these two proteins. When pepsinogen, a folded single peptide chain, is converted to pepsin, there is a profound change in the physical and chemical properties of the protein. In an
