Potential Application of a Water‐Soluble Fullerene C60 Decorated with Diethylene Glycol in Treatment of Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
A new ethoxyethanol derivative of iminofullerene, F2, is synthesized and labeled with 99mTc to produce 99mTc‐F2. In vitro, compound F2 inhibits the activation of primary mouse bone marrow‐derived macrophages stimulated with lipopolysaccharide. Moreover, 99mTc‐F2 is selectively enriched in the injured joints of mice. Inflammatory macrophages play a role

Graphene Oxide‐Based Gene Modulation in Preferential Elimination of Lung Cancer Cells in a 3D Tumor Microenvironment Model

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Chemically modified graphene oxide nanocarriers provide a targeted lung cancer gene therapy platform. In a 3D tumor microenvironment model, these nanocarriers deliver therapeutic genes, regulate immune markers, and induce apoptosis in cancer cells. Combined gene delivery enhances cancer cell elimination, demonstrating the potential of this approach for

Nanoparticles Functionalized with Polymer Brushes for Gene Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
The engineering of the next generation gene delivery vectors requires the precise control of the architecture and physicochemical interactions controlling the transport, targeting, uptake, and release of nucleic acid materials to targeted cells. Polymer brush‐functionalized nanomaterials offer unprecedented control over such design and properties, and ...

Complex Donuts: Small Variations in DNA Sequence Dictate Pathway Complexity in DNA Nanotoroids

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Chemical information encoded in the sequence of DNA amphiphiles enables the selective formation of kinetically trapped DNA nanotoroids through a complex self‐assembly pathway. The toroids are formed as on‐pathway structures via a competitive mechanism only when a toroid‐selective DNA sequence is used.
