Effect of peptidoglycans on erythrocyte survival
Peptidoglycans (PGNs) from bacterial cell walls belong to 'pathogen-associated molecular patterns' (PAMP), which modify the course of an infection with bacterial pathogens. Bacterial infections may lead to anaemia, which at least partially could result from accelerated erythrocyte death.

A novel acoustofluidic lysis technique based on a vibrating fiber‐tip is integrated with Raman spectroscopy and deep learning for rapid, label‐free bacterial classification. By exposing intracellular biomolecules, this method significantly enhances spectral resolution, enabling high‐accuracy classification with a 1D‐ResNet model.
