Enterococcus faecalis and Endodontic Treatment Failure: A Qualitative Systematic Review of Its Role and Elimination Strategies

open access: yesAustralian Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to synthesize evidence on the influence of Enterococcus faecalis on endodontic treatment failure and strategies for its elimination. This study followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and was registered in PROSPERO (CRD420251022741).

Efficacy of Selected Commercial Bio‐Products in Disrupting Symbiont Acquisition and Survival of Halyomorpha halys (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae)

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, EarlyView.
Targeting the symbiont Candidatus Pantoea carbekii offers a novel way to manage the invasive brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys). Among the three commercial bio‐products tested, Dentamet significantly reduced symbiont acquisition and caused up to 75% nymphal mortality in laboratory conditions, which was confirmed by quantitative Real‐Time ...

Unraveling the active site cover of coproheme decarboxylase from Listeria monocytogenes

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
During heme biosynthesis in Gram‐positive bacteria, coproheme decarboxylase (ChdC) catalyzes the conversion of four‐propionate substrate coproheme to the two propionate product heme b. Its active site is universally covered by a flexible linking loop. This study identifies an important histidine residue, which stabilizes the loop in a ChdC homolog.

Peracetic Acid Treatment of Eggs

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1957
ABSTRACT Peracetic acid, CH3COOOH, is a relatively stable and highly potent bactericide which decomposes to acetic acid, oxygen and water. Although these qualities indicate that peracetic acid (PAA) should be useful as a germicide for the food industries, few investigators have examined the practical applications of PAA in food processing. Efficiency of Different Disinfectants on Bacillus cereus Sensu Stricto Biofilms on Stainless-Steel Surfaces in Contact With Milk

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2018
The species of the Bacillus cereus group have the ability to adhere to and form biofilms on solid surfaces, including stainless steel, a material widely used in food industries. Biofilms allow for recontamination during food processing, and the “clean-in-
